Along the common Rabbids, a type of Rabbids called Zombie Rabbid was planned to appear in the game. Rayman would have had to beat up the Rabbids in close-quarters combat, similarly to the slapping-based fighting in Rayman Origins huge numbers of Rabbids could be on-screen at any given time. A prominent feature was that it featured an open world, where the player could explore, roaming from one area to the next, as in Beyond Good & Evil. "The game would have been a 3D platformer, similar to Rayman 2 and Rayman 3. He kidnaps and imprisons the baby Globoxes, Rayman's girlfriend, André, and André's own girlfriend (Toots, the seductive voice from the Hoodlum Headquarters level in Rayman 3), and it is left to Rayman to rescue them all, defeat the Rabbids, and save the world (again)." The leader of the Rabbids was to be the obese and decadent Jabbit the Rabbid. In order to defeat the Rabbids, Rayman is forced to join forces with André, the villainous (and annoyingly obnoxious) Black Lum who commanded the Hoodlum invasion in Rayman 3. During the game, Rayman meets and falls in love with a female member of his own species. Familiar characters from previous Rayman games would have appeared in the game and would find themselves in new situations, as the Rabbids intend to use them for 'strange purposes'. The only one who could defeat the Rabbids and bring an end the nightmare was Rayman, the guardian who had protected the Glade from evil many times before. The game begins when, after centuries of evil plotting, the Rabbids rose from the ground in huge numbers, armed with the gigantic war machines and flying crafts that they have constructed, and begin their vengeful takeover of the Glade. Retreating underground, the rabbits grew bitter and hateful, ultimately becoming the insane and violent Rabbids. Because of their stupidity, the rabbits were shunned and bullied by the other creatures. "The plot was about the Glade of Dreams, which used to be inhabited by innocent and friendly rabbits. So let's get creative, my fairies, and let's repair Raving Rabbids/Rayman 4! So after scoring the web for information on this cancelled prototype, I unearthed the old beta version of Raving Rabbids/Rayman 4, rewrote its story while still keeping its main plot elements, and saw if I could make something good out of the worst game I have ever played. Then that inspired me to make this! Now as I mentioned in the first part of my original Raving Rabbids review, the beta version of the game (Rayman 4) was very different from the released game, in terms of story, gameplay, tone, and well, almost everything! And honestly, I think the beta version is actually really good! It was quite a shame seeing such a cool idea for a game get scrapped. And I've complained endlessly on how bad these games get, and not just 'bad', I mean downright abysmal! But after so much hatred, that actually got me thinking "If these games are so bad, what could make it decent?". I've complained to death about the games, as well as the Rabbids themselves, and especially the terrible effect they had on my favorite video game franchise Rayman. What I consider to be the pinnacle of horrible, the dictionary definition of horrendous, and everything wrong with video games summed up in a ugly screaming stupid package. As all of you know, my least favorite video game franchise is The Raving Rabbids.
